Army Techniques Publication (ATP) 02-42, Army Health System Support to Stability, provides guidance on the Army Health System's (AHS's) role in supporting stability operations. Stability operations are defined as "military operations taken by a commander to maintain or re-establish a secure environment, provide essential governance and basic services to the population, and facilitate the extension of host nation authority and legitimacy."
